 Chinese Language Classes (9:10 am - 11:00 am)

The Chinese language program offers the following three tracks.   A student's enrollment into a track and class is based on the student's language level, age, personal options and teacher's recommendation.  If you are a new student, and you do not know which class to choose, please call 610-627-9565 or send a email to MediaChineseSchool@yahoo.com for consultation.

Track 1 - Students from Mandarin Chinese speaking environment
 - The class is taught completely in Mandarin Chinese
 - Classes are from 1st grade to 9th grade (C1- C9)
 - Textbook & Exercise books are:  Zhongwen series by Ji Nan University

Track 2 - Students from non-Mandarin Chinese speaking environment
 - The class is taught in both English and Chinese
 - Classes include Preschool, B1 to B6 classes (A student needs to be age 4 or older to start Preschool)
 - Textbooks include Better Chinese textbooks, Far East textbooks and supplementary materials

Track 3 - Adult students from non-Mandarin Chinese speaking environment
  - The class is taught in both English and Chinese
  - Textbooks are: Integrated Chinese series

All of the four language skills ( listening, speaking, reading and character writing, and pinyin - the phonetics system) are taught throughout the three tracks.  However, the focus on the each skill may vary depending on the segments of a track. 

Textbook, exercise books and supplementary materials are available for purchase from the classroom teachers on the first day of a school year.  Please bring cash or check payable to: "Media-Swarthmore Chinese School" on the first day of a school year.
