Last school day
Apr. 30, 2016
The last school day of the semester is on May 14.  The students will celebrate the end of school year with their classmates, teachers and parents in their classrooms.  Awards and school reports will also be passed on to students on this day.

2016 Fall Early Registration

Early registration for 2016 fall semester has started on Apr. 29, and will end on May 14.  You should take the advantage of no registration fee during the early registration to register for the next semester.  It will also help the school to plan everything ahead.

Seminar: Introduction to Guasha on April 23 11:00 – 12:00 at Room B104

The seminar speaker, Mr. Lee Deng will introduce Guasha, a simple traditional Chinese folk medical remedy which has been used by Chinese for hundreds of years, and become more and more recognized in America.

Chinese Character Reading Contest Month in April

April is MSCS’ Character Reading Contest Month.  The contest is held by each Chinese class.  We hope the students will build up more.

Seminar: Tax Saving Strategies on March 12 09:00 – 12:00 at Room B104

At this time of tax season, Dr. Wenyue Hus from Transamerica Companies will come to our school and present a seminar on tax saving strategies on March 12, 2016.  There will be a questions & answers section after the presentation.

Chinese New Year Celebration
Jan. 20, 2016
MSCS celebrated 2016 Chinese New Year, the year of the Monkey on Jan. 16 with the students, parents and friends.  Each Chinese language class put on their class show on the stage.  The children dance, karate, parent dance, fitness and taiji class also performed for the audience.  A reception was held after the performance.  Children also enjoyed their games and won prices after the reception.  Photos and videos can be viewed here:

Chinese Speech Presentation
Nov. 6, 2015
The MSCS Chinese Speech Presentation will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at the Penncrest Library from 9:10 am to 11:00 am.  Registration deadline is Dec. 12.  The event needs the help of volunteers.  Please click the link to sign up as an volunteer: Chinese Speech Volunteer Sign-up

Parents Meeting
Oct. 26, 2015
The annual parents meeting is scheduled 9:15am to 10:45am on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Library, Penncrest High School.  All the parents are invited to the meeting.

Welcome to 2015 fall semester!
Sept. 10, 2015
Welcome to 2015 fall semester which starts on Saturday, Sept. 12th, 2015.  Mandarin classes begin at 9:00 am.
The Registration Desk will be available in the lobby to handle on-site registration, add/drop or change classes and answer   questions concerning registration and classes.
Chinese textbooks are available for purchase at the student classroom on the first school day.  Cash or a check payable to “Media-Swarthmore Chinese School” is good for the textbook purchase.
